I have been using Gowalla now for the better part of the past year. I love it and I think it's an excellent way to let the people in your town know of good venues: restaurants, theatres, coffee shops, and generally good places to hang, to enjoy. The location based aspect of this is crucial because you can link straight to a google maps URL to see exactly where the venue is in relationship to your neighborhood. Great aspect of the whole experience! I was turned on to the app from a really good friend of mine @jerrydaniels who is an app developer for both Mac and PCs. http://is.gd/aKJYo

@butchjax do u have a Zune Mktplce Subscr.? Be careful of DRM music. I used 2 hv, and lots of music that I purchsd can Only be heard on my Zune--no transfrng 2 other devices. Since, I hv enjoyed iTunes more as they seem 2 hv more DRM free music thn Zune Mrktplce (MP3s, etc) & all that will trnsfr. I recomnd buying from iTunes, Amazon MP3 Music Sect., and if u must buy frm Mrktplce, then make sure it's DRM free. :) Later u'll be bummed if u hv 2 buy a lot of it again simply b/c u can't play on anythng else.
