I assume that you restored from a back up After you installed iOS 5? Which, if you did, that is probably the crux of the problem. I have been reading the blogs and listening to podcasts about iOS 5 and Apple device issues. The consensus and experiential success is that if you wipe and restore as a new phone that the anomalies clear up. When you have time, it may be worth your while. :)
